Frederick A. France, age 50 of Wainwright, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, following a period of declining health.Fred was born on September 9, 1957 to Kenneth France and the Late Gloria (Vierheller) France-Haldeman.He was a 1976 graduate of Dover High School and worked for more than 25 years at the Timken Company at New Philadelphia.At the age of 13, while attending church camp, Fred met the love of his life, the former Bonnie Hill. The couple married on June 25, 1977 and together raised two children.Fred had a deep devotion to his family and was well respected for his extensive knowledge of nature. His testimony in life was to pass along his knowledge of the outdoors and wildlife to his children, friends and anyone who would listen.Additionally, Fred loved to cook. Creating unique dishes from the game he trapped or the wild plants and mushrooms he collected was a passion of his. His “kid at heart” attitude and generous personality made him a natural host for those who may be at the house to enjoy a meal with him.Practically daily, Fred would venture off to one fishing spot or another with his dear friend George Howell and son, Nick. He also very much enjoyed the companionship of friend, Marc Robb.Fred was especially proud of his daughter, Jill, who was a Track and Field standout in high school and son, Nick, who excelled in baseball. He volunteered many hours to umpiring Wainwright Little League games. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Fred is survived by his Father, Kenneth (Linda) France of Dover; step-father, Tom Haldeman of Gnadenhutten; daughter, Jill France of Mayfield Heights; brother, Kenneth France, Jr., and five sisters, Jenny Kalp, Elizabeth Huston, Heather France, Michelle Peterson, and Lori Miller.In addition to his mother, Fred was preceded in death by his best friend and son, Nicholas France.In accordance with Fred’s wishes, he has been cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will hold private services at a later date.Those wishing to do so may send the family personal condolences by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.Fred is now free to join Nick and George on yet another great fishing adventure.
