Frederick C. Ludwig, 81, of Dover, died Wedneday morning June 2, 2004 at the Arbors of Canton following a lengthy illness.Born November 21, 1922 at Dennison, Ohio to the late Jacob C. and Katherine (Huhn) Ludwig he was a 1940 graduate of Dennison High School, WWII Veteran of the U. S. Navy, member of the former Leesville Masonic Lodge, current member of the Carroll Lodge 124 F & AM, member of the First United Methodist Church of New Philadelphia and had retired in 1986 after 32 years of service as the Resource Manager of the Muskingum Area of the U. S. Army Corp. of Engineers. Fred enjoyed camping and fishing and had camped in all but three of the United States.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Louise Hockman.He is survived by his wife, Doris (Thompson) Ludwig whom he married February, 2 1942, a son Ronnie (Janice) Ludwig, of Dover, a brother, Carl Ludwig, of Wisconsin, two granddaughters, Anna (Douglas) Weyrick, of Akron and Alison (Curtis) Harvey of Brookfield, a great grandson, Jacob Weyrick and nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory of New Philadelphia, Saturday June 5, 2004, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Steven R. Bailey officiating. Friends and family are invited to visit at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Burial Park.
