Frederick W. "Fritz" Andrews

Frederick W. “Fritz” Andrews. 66, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2024 in his home.

 

Born January 9, 1958 in Massillon, Fritz was one of three sons born to the late John F. and Ruby K. (Zurcher) Andrews and was a 1976 graduate of Fairless High School. Following high school, Fritz attended The Ohio State University / Agricultural Technical Institute at Wooster and then began a long career in the transportation industry. Fritz possessed a great interest and found joy in following any form of auto racing that took place on an oval track. He owned and sponsored a sprint car that became very successful competing in the All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car series with driver Dale Blaney and crew chief, George Fisher. Fritz had formerly attended the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia and was also a member of the Beach City Post of the Sons of the American Legion.

 

Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas J. “Tom” and Molly Andrews of Beach City; his sister-in-law, Iddy Andrews of Edisto Beach, South Carolina and two nieces and two nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Fritz was also preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Andrews.

 

In keeping with his wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Geib Funeral Center at Dover and a private burial is to take place in South Lawn Cemetery at Beach City.
