Freda Rothel

Freda P. Rothel, 96, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Hennis Care Centre at Dover following a lengthy illness.

Born in Brady, Ohio, on September 18, 1922, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Pheobe J. Fordyce Chase and a graduate of Madison High School. Freda had retired from New Philadelphia High School where she had worked in the cafeteria for over 20 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in New Philadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Vernon C. Rothel, on October 29, 1999. Surviving are three sons, David V. (Carol) Rothel of Dover, Paul R. (Dondra) Rothel of Sugarcreek and Mark A. (Mary) Rothel of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Rebekah E. Rothel, Steve (Erin) Rothel, Matthew (Taylor) Rothel, Ryan (Marci) Rothel and Chandra (Shawn) Miller; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Carol J. Rothel, six sisters and three brothers are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with Pastor Snow officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Antrim Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Antrim, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia.
