Fred William Sanders

Fred William Sanders, age 68, of Port Washington, died peacefully early Thursday morning, November 5, 2009 in Newcomerstown. Born at Dennison, May 2, 1941, he was a son of the late William Stephen and Dotty Belle (Moss) Sanders. A lifelong resident of the area, Fred worked for many years at Belden Brick. Most recently, he worked at Express Packaging until illness forced his retirement. Fred will be remembered as a wonderful family man who treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, the former Betty Jean Ferguson. Together they reared a son and two daughters; Michael (fiancée Amy Knight) Sanders of Newcomerstown, Debbie (fiancée Carl Irwin) Moore of Port Washington, and Amy (husband David) Glazer of Newcomerstown. Twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren also survive. Fred’s stepmother; Rachel Mae Sanders, four brothers; Archie (Olive) Sanders, DeVer (Bernice) Sanders, Elwood Sanders, and Thomas (Janice) Sanders, as well as four sisters; Belinda (Dale) Barker, Goldie (Jim) Gatts, Dottie (David) Horsfall and Marie Smith, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Moss, as well as numerous nieces and nephews complete the family. In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his son; Fred William Sanders, Jr., a grandson; Matthew Glazer, a sister; Helen D. Smith, and two brothers; Bob Moss and William “Billy” Sanders. Friends are invited to call Monday afternoon from 3PM Â? 4PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where the Rev. Hugh B.
