Fred Ray Shook III, 49, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, in Affinity Medical Center at Massillon.A son of the late Fred R. Shook II and Priscilla (Johnson) Delto, Fred was born February 2, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio.Fred was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed plumbing.His family will remember him as a good hearted person who would go without in order to help others. He was a loving and caring son, father, brother and uncle.He is survived by his loving family which include one daughter, Stephanie A. Shook of Tampa, Florida; son’s, Fred R. Shook IV of Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, David A. (Samantha) Shook of Charleston, South Carolina, Jeremy J. (Jennifer) Shook of Strasburg, Christopher C. Shook of Dover, Scott A. Shook of Strasburg and Roy R. Shook of Strasburg; grandchildren, Zane, Leah and Adaline Shook; friend, Christina Shook of Strasburg, Ohio; grandmother, Nicole Shook of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Susan (Dennis) Meyers of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Diane (Roger) Conroy of Jacobsburg, Ohio and Patricia Ruckman of Sandusky, Ohio; brothers, James (Donna) Fuchs of Hollywood, Florida and Mark (Charlotte) Fuchs of Mt. Pleasant, Ohio and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.Fred was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, Fred Ray Shook II; an infant nephew, Hunter and other extended family members.A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at Rittman, Ohio, with Pastor Kermit Hall officiating.
