Dr. Frank A. Fisher, 83, of Midvale, died Thursday, February 01, 2007 in Union Hospital following a lengthy illness.A son of the late Paul and Ella Mae (Henry) Fisher, Frank was born February 2, 1923 in Dennison.He was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School and in 1952 Frank graduated from Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to graduating from Ohio State, he served in the United States Army-Air Force during World War II.Frank was the owner and operator of Dr. Fisher Veterinary Clinic for over 37 years. He was a member of Park Christian Church at Dennison and most recently he was deeply affiliated with the Cathedral of Life Church at Canton where he had formed a special bond with Pastors Dick and Ina Swegheimer. Frank was also a Past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge, Mystic Tie at Uhrichsville.He was a pilot who owned his own plane where he housed at Harry Clever Airfield at New Philadelphia. Frank was an avid deer hunter and he enjoyed music and reading, especially in his later years. His greatest joy however was his family and the time he spent playing with his grandchildren. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Nancy St. John, whom he married on December 19, 1991; children, Tammy (Dwight) Kerby of Brewster, Ohio and E. Tim (Kathy) Dillon of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Timothy and Marisa Kerby, Robert, Kayla and Jonathan Dillon and Jennifer Lang and one great grandchild, Serafina Raye Heiser-Dillon. Frank was especially proud the bond he shared with his grandsons, PFC Robert Dillon and PFC Timothy Kerby, who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.In keeping with Frank’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services observed and cremation will take place in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to Cathedral of life Church, 4111 38th Street NW, Canton, OH 44718 and/or to Tuscarawas County Dog Pound, 441 University Drive, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.”His gallant soul has but taken flight, into the land where there is no night! He is not dead. He has only gone on, into a brighter and more wonderful dawn. His spirit lives on like the warm sun.”
