Frances R. Vaughn

Frances R. Vaughn, age 54, of Sherrodsville, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Aultman Hospital at Canton, following a courageously fought battle with cancer.A daughter of Ruth (Tucker) Ward of New Philadelphia and the late Ervine Ward, Fran, as she was known by family and friends, was born at Dover on December 20, 1954.On September 20, 1980, she married the love of her life, Douglas Vaughn. Together the couple enjoyed working with their Arabian horses, maintaining their property and spending time with their family. It was Fran, however, who took charge of decorating the couple’s home. She had an artistic eye for decorating and an uncanny ability to make each room flow with one another. In addition to decorating, Fran loved to collect antiques and would often incorporate her findings throughout her home. In addition to her mother, Ruth, and husband, Doug, she will be missed by her daughter, Tracy Burkey of Bolivar; a sister, Virginia Ricklic of New Philadelphia; mother-in-law, Sally (Robert) Goodwin of New Philadelphia; Father-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) Vaughn, also of New Philadelphia; three brothers-in-law, Rick (Gail) Vaughn of Bolivar, Chris (Gail) Vaughn of New Philadelphia, and Rob (Tina) Vaughn of Bakersville, Ohio.Three granddaughters, Devin, Courtney, and Raina; four nieces, Lori, Alisa, Kara, and Alysa; three nephews, Kevin, Kyle, and Andrew; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews complete the family.The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 2009, from 1:00 Â? 4:00 P.M. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Kelly Brown will lead a service celebrating Fran’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Monday, July 6, 2009, at 1:30 P.M. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
