Floyd William Lenarz, age 53, of New Philadelphia, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Hennis Care Center at Dover, following a period of declining health.
Born at Dover, October 17, 1958, he was the only child born to the late Floyd Woodrow and Dorothy Mae Kimble Lenarz.
A 1977 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Floyd went on to attend Kent State University where he studied political science.
Floyd was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia and while living in Pensacola, Florida from 2003 through last year, attended the Cokesbury United Methodist Church at Pensacola.
He’ll be remembered as a gentle man who was quiet and unassuming. Floyd was an avid reader with great intelligence. He was a fan of listening to all sorts of music, and loved dogs.
Survivors include his many cousins, including Floyd’s special sister, Vicki Hutto of Pensacola, Florida, and an aunt, Virginia (Gilbert) Ball of New Philadelphia.
A memorial service celebrating Floyd’s life will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church, 201 W. High Ave., New Philadelphia beginning at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Amy Braun officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall.
Floyd will be laid to rest alongside his parents in New Philadelphia’s Evergreen Burial Park at a later time.
