Florence Rothenstine

Florence Barbara Rothenstine, 85, of Dover, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Edward and Juanita (Ankney) Regula, Florence was born March 5, 1930 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.

Florence graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1948. Then on October 30, 1948, she married the love of her life, Harold Rothenstine.

She was an avid sports fan who enjoyed following her children and grandchildren throughout their athletic endeavors. Florence was also an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Florence cherished her family and was granted a final wish by being able to visit with all of them prior to her passing.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harold Rothenstine; her children, Julia (Melvin “Skip”) White, Dianna (David) Groh, Cindy (David) Keitch, Wendy (Bret) Harshey and Kimberly (Eric) Belknap; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Henry and Clara Julia Regula; a daughter, Sandra Horsfall, an infant son, Jody and a granddaughter, Rachael Horsfall.

In keeping with Florence’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
