Florence A. Rindchen

Florence A. Rindchen, 99, Formerly of Minerva and New Philadelphia, died Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Aultman Hospital in Canton following an extended illness.Born in Warren Township, Tuscarawas County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Martha E. Cole Gundy. A graduate of Kent State University and a 1924 graduate of the Aultman School of Nursing in Canton, she was a registered nurse and had retired from Aultman Hospital in Canton. She was a member of the Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville, a member of the Robertsville Grange, a founding leader of the Sisters of the Skillet 4-H Club founded in 1929, a member of the Retired Nurse’s Association and was a former representative of the retired nurses to the Aultman Hospital Board of Directors.Her husband, the late Austin A. Rindchen, preceded her in death in March 1987. Surviving are a foster daughter, Myrtle Griffith of Navarre; four nieces, Thelma (Herman) Shaffer of New Philadelphia, Doreen Gundy of New Philadelphia, Carol Schell of Tucson, Arizona and Eleanor Gum of Phoenix, Arizona and four nephews, Emmett Gundy of Tucson, Arizona, Cletus Gundy of Lakeside, Arizona, Verle True of Tucson, Arizona and Harold Sherer of Cincinnati.Three brothers, Harry Gundy, Ellsworth Gundy and Clifford Gundy; a sister, Verna True and a nephew, Leo Gundy are also deceased.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at 1:00 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Pastor Jeff Lord officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. A reception will be held in the Geib Family Center following the committal. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 to 1 PM in the funeral home.
