Flodell Frances Marburger, 74, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Oscar and Esta Mae (McKinney) Wolford, Flo was born October 6, 1940 at Rosemont, West Virginia.
Flo graduated from Flemington High School in 1958. She then relocated to the area in 1972. She was retired from Walnut Hills Nursing Home after 21 years of service where she gave such personal and compassionate attention to her residents.
She was a woman of great faith and was a member of Church of New Hope. Flo enjoyed reading the Bible and being in a witness to the Lord. It was her wish for everyone to be saved in order for them to make it to heaven.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, crocheting and making afghan blankets. She also enjoyed dancing, as well as square dancing, golfing, playing table tennis, riding motorcycles, gardening and tending to her yard.
Most of all Flo enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and always displayed great passion and love for everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her husband, Ray Marburger whom she married on June 2, 1976; her children, Tim (Katia) Marburger of Naples, Italy, Ted (Tina) Marburger of Pelzer, South Carolina, Trevor Marburger of Anderson, South Carolina, Peggy (Adam) Yee of Oregon and Joanna (Adam) Wenker of San Francisco, California; her grandchildren, Andrew, Jenny, Amber, Dustin, Crystal, Martina, Philip, Jerrod, Dylan, Brent, Matthew and Emily; six great grandchildren and her siblings, Martha Schrader of Wooster, Jerri (Ellis) Fields of Wooster, Oscar Wolford Jr. of West Virginia, James Wolford of Wooster, William Wolford of New York and Rita Wolford of West Virginia.
Flo was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sharon Troyer; a sister, Clair Faust and a brother, Bob Wolford.
In keeping with Flo’s wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover with Pastor Dan Legg officiating. Inurnment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery at Beach City. The family will greet guests from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service in the funeral home.
