Faye A. Bryant, age 88, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.Faye was born February 11, 1921, at Fayetteville, West Virginia and was a daughter to the late Anderson and Martha (Cohenour) Eggleston. At the age of four, Anderson passed away and her mother soon re-married. A gentleman by the name of Clark Bryant would raise Faye and her brother Ernest as his own.She later met a young man by the name of Albert Bryant; following a period of courtship, the couple was married in 1938. Together, Faye and Albert reared three daughters. Many had the opportunity to meet Faye during her more than thirty-five years of involvement as an Avon sales representative. She enjoyed going door-to-door and expanding her client base which simply enabled her to meet new friends, an activity she truly enjoyed. As part of her success with Avon, Faye was included as part of the President’s Circle on numerous occasions. When not selling Avon, Faye had a passion for the game of bowling. For more than forty years, Faye bowled on a league and continued to do so until the age of 85. Again, she truly enjoyed the numerous friendships she had made through those years. Tending to the outside of her home was one of many passions for Faye. She meticulously cared for and made sure that her lawn and flower gardens were in near perfect condition. Perhaps one of the highlights of Faye’s life was the time she spent with her family. Whether it involved taking vacations to the beach or having a grandchild stop by for a visit, Faye loved every minute of the time she was able to spend with each person. Faye also had a love for animals; one in particular was her beloved cat and companion, Peaches.Faye will be greatly missed by two daughters, Audrey Bryant and Aurelia (Fred, Jr.) Edwards both of New Philadelphia; three half-sisters, Shirley Dingess, Othello VanNatter, and Opal Collins; and three half-brothers, Johnnie Bryant, Guy Bryant, and Bert Bryant. Ten grandchildren, Elaine Kunzi, Brenda Hughes, Donna VanNatter, Jay VanNatter, Jill Baxter, Jennifer Stingle, Danny Duncan, Angela Kearns, Victoria Edwards, and Fred Edwards, III as well as nineteen great-grandchildren, an expected great-grandchild; and six great-great grandchildren complete the family. In addition to her mother and father, Faye was preceded in death by her step-father and husband as well as a daughter, Arlene Duncan; a brother, Ernest Eggleston; four half brothers, Harrison Bryant, Robert Bryant, Russell Bryant, and Dallas Bryant; and a granddaughter, Belinda Ruth Edwards. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2009, from 1:00-3:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
