Exavior Francis Kennison

E. F. “Sonny” Kennison, 55, died unexpectedly Friday morning, January 3, 2003 at home in Bolivar. Sonny was born February 19, 1947 in Dover to the late Walter E. and Margrette G. Hall Kennison. He graduated from Tuscarawas Valley High School in 1965. From 1967 to 1969, Sonny served proudly and honorably with the U. S. Army Infantry during the Vietnam War. By profession, Sonny was a millwright with Union Local #1871. He enjoyed model railroading and woodworking. Sonny is survived by his wife, the former Nancy J. Roblin Rankin, whom he married May 25, 1996; daughters, Ashley Dawn Kennison and Tamara Lucille Kennison, both of Garland, TX and Julie D. Lawson of Clarendon, TX; sons, Kenneth Scott Rankin and Mark E. Rankin, both of Peoria, AZ and Jess B. (Lainie B.) Rankin of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Joseph Michael Lawson, Chase Logan Rankin, and Camron Scott Rankin; brothers, Walter Wayne (Rosemary) Kennison, Keith (Judy) Kennison and Chip (Cheryl) Kennison; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 8, 2003, 1:00 to 3:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. The funeral service will be Thursday evening, January 9, 2003 at 7:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Chauncey L. Eggan officiating and the New Philadelphia VFW Post #1445 presenting military honors. Immediately following the service all are invited to a reception in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Contributions honoring Sonny may be made to the Ohio Chapter MIA-POW, P. O. Box 14853, Columbus, OH 43214.
