Everett G. Wright, 72, of Port Washington, O., passed away May 17, 2005, in Twin City Hospital following a lengthy illness.Everett was born at Columbus, Ohio on May 8, 1933, the son of the late Everett and Georgia Frazier Wright.He retired from Ross’s Market Basket in 1996. He was previously employed by Big Bear and Stoll’s Country Cupboard.Surviving Everett is his loving wife Joyce (Long). They were married on Nov 30, 1958. They loved each other deeply. His precious canine companion Lexie will also miss Everett.Everett was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jean Wright Houston.In addition to his wife, Everett is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Trish and Jeff Melnichenko of Port Washington, O; 5 sons, Jim Wright and his wife Ida of Gnadenhutten, O.; Jerry Wright of Columbus, O.; Jack Wright of Pickerington, O.; Craig Wright of Worthington, O.; and Navy Chief Petty Officer Everett Todd Wright of Aiea, Hawaii. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Lyndsie and Lance Melnichenko of Port Washington; James Wright of Mineral City, O.; Thomas Everett Wright of Martins Ferry, O.; and Kate Wright of Gnadenhutten; Alicia and Erica Wright of San Antonio, Tx; Chad, twins Cassie and Cory, and Craig Wright of the Columbus area.Everett enjoyed deer hunting with friends, attending high school basketball games and playing golf.At Everett’s request cremation will be conducted through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Family and friends are invited to an open house Saturday afternoon, May 21, from 2 until 4 in the Melnichenko residence at Port Washington. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, New York, 10006, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
