Everett Walter Cleveland, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 15, 2016. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 6, 1930. He was a son of the late Chauncey Gould Cleveland.
Walter grew up in Charlton, Massachusetts and following high school, he relocated to the Cleveland area to begin his four year carpentry apprenticeship. He then served two years in the United States Marine Corps. Walter then resumed his career in construction supervision and management, eventually establishing E.W. Cleveland, INC General Contractors. Walter married Donna Driver on September 9, 1950. She became his business partner in both Cleveland and Naples, Florida. The couple then retired to Holmes County, Ohio in 2000.
Surviving is his wife, Donna; daughter, Barbara (LeRoy) Vandeveer, grandchildren, Robert (Breanna), Leann and James Vandeveer and three great grandchildren, Alayna, Finn and Giselle.
Walter was predeceased by his father and a son, Robert Giles Cleveland.
Heaven gained an angel today, one that will forever be remembered for the selfless gifts of knowledge, time and memories that he bestowed upon all stretches of life that he encountered.
As he wished, there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held.
