Evelyn Mae Nill, of Dover passed away October 12, 2015 in Park Village Nursing Home at Dover following a period of declining health.
Born in Zoarville on October 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Blunt) Shonk.
After completing her formal education at Zoarville Schools, she married her husband, the late Charles L. Nill, on January 1, 1945.
She attended Dover Bible Church and was baptized at the New Philadelphia Church of Christ. Evelyn also enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling, listening to country music, and eating Steineck’s Bakery donuts.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Terry (Beth) Nill of Mineral City and Brenda Garber-Frank of Dover; her siblings, Kenny (Jane) Shonk, Pauline Cutshall, and Robert (Helen) Shonk; her grandchildren, Tracey Garber, Carrie Ann Moore, and Terry Nill, II; and great-grandchildren, Sierra Garber, Kayla Moore, Lee Ann Moore, Aidan Nill, and Landon Nill.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Duane Shonk; her son-in-law, Larry Frank; her special friend, Warren Fox; and her brother-in-law, Dick Cutshall.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday beginning at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Evelyn’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Park Village Nursing Home who has provided wonderful care to Evelyn over the past several years.
