Evelyn L. Burrier

Evelyn L. Burrier, 89, of Walnut Hills Nursing Home at Walnut Creek, Ohio and formerly of Stone Creek, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007.A daughter of the late George and Ida (Lorenz) Sherretts, Evelyn was born December 27, 1917 near Bakersville, Ohio.Evelyn, who was a homemaker, was a graduate of Stone Creek High School and was a member of Grace United Church of Christ at Stone Creek. She was also a member of the Friendship Circle at the church. Evelyn also enjoyed gardening and she cherished every moment she spent with her family.She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Richard) Fincher of New Philadelphia; sons, Thom (Carole) Burrier of Cleveland, Georgia and Mark (Diane) Burrier of Zanesville; grandchildren, Jason and Gabriel Fincher and Daphne (Jody) Skinner; step-grandchildren, Skyler Wolfe, Shauntae (Shawn) Bash and Shaelynne (Toby) Beisser; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Isabella Skinner; step-great grandchildren, Renner Bash and Cassidy and Brantley Beisser; sister, Catherine Rausch of Sugarcreek, sisters-in-law, Agnes (Bert) Varadi of Au Gres, Michigan, Gladys Burrier of Port Washington and Ruth Burrier of Newcomerstown and a brother-in-law, William Emig of Sugarcreek.Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon C. Burrier, and infant son, Vernon C. Burrier Jr.; a sister and her husband, Bernice and Rolan Reinhart; a sister-in-law, Ruth Emig; and brothers-in-law, Lewis Rausch and Floyd and Clarence Burrier.Family and friends may call on Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Evelyn’s life will held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Grace United Church of Christ at Stone Creek with Rev. Jim Painting officiating.
