Evelyn Florence Taylor

Evelyn Florence Taylor, 87, of New Philadelphia died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio.A daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Eck) Frankhart, Evelyn was born September 12, 1922 at Tiffin, Ohio.Evelyn graduated from Calvert High School at Tiffin then left for Akron during World War II to work for the Firestone Company as a “Rosie the Riveter”.She retired from the Summit County Juvenile Court where she worked as a clerk. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and a former member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church at Akron. Evelyn was also a member of the Altar Society at St. Martha’s Church. Evelyn was also active in the Red Hat Society.She is survived by her sons, Ron (Pat) Taylor of Westcliffe, Colorado and Tom (Jennifer) Taylor of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Taylor of Orange, California, Amy Nicole Taylor of Irvine, California, Michael Christopher Taylor of New Philadelphia and Brian James Taylor of Dover.Completing the family are her sisters, Madelyn Schwamberger, Beatrice Reinhart, Mary Jo (Harland) Brickner and Norma Jean Frankhart; her step sisters, Irene (Pete) Bellex, Ann (Pat) Hartenstein and Darlene (Mike) Whyte and a brother-in-law, Fred Walliser.Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband George L. Taylor whom she married on April 12, 1947; a grandson, Adam Taylor and three sisters, Patricia Walliser, Til O’Conner and Alice Wood.The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and again one hour prior to the service on Friday. A funeral service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Deacon Ron Fondriest officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
