Evelyn "Evie" Wisintainer

Evelyn “Evie” Wisintainer, age 84, of Dover, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Park Village Southside at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Born in Dover, Ohio on September 21, 1939, Evie was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary Spies Weller. 

She married the love of her life, Larry E. Wisintainer on November 5, 1960, in the former St. Paul’s Catholic Church at Midvale. Together the couple raised two children and shared in nearly 56 years of marriage prior to his passing on October 11, 2016. As a couple they enjoyed taking trips, spending time with family, and attending the sporting events and activities of their children and grandchildren.  

Evie worked for 20 years at the former Montgomery Ward at Dover and was a longtime member of the New Philadelphia Elks, B.P.O.E. 510. 

She is survived by her children, Lori Rodabaugh of Gilbert, South Carolina and Larry (Deb) Wisintainer of Dover; three grandchildren, Zoey (Brodie) Pigott of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Seth Wisintainer of Dover, and Sara (Ryan) Lloyd of Lexington, South Carolina, and a great-grandson, Hudson Pigott.  

In keeping with Evie’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services. A private graveside service will take place in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling cremation care and arrangements.
