Eulalee Barcus, 71, a former Dover resident, currently of Atwood Glens, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at her home.The eldest of three children, Eula was born in Salineville, OH, on May 7, 1932. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Doris Stone Earl and was instilled with a love of sports early in life as she often accompanied her father to watch the Cleveland Indians.Eula was employed by Banc One for nearly 30 years, before her retirement in l995. She served in many capacities there, culminating her career as head of the Indirect Loan Department.A 42-year member of the First Christian Church in New Philadelphia, Eula was a member and treasurer of the Master Builders Class and a former church choir member.She was a 22-year member of the Dover Public Library Board of Trustees and an avid sports fan, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns, and, of course, the Dover Tornadoes!Eula enjoyed traveling in the family RV, and had a keen interest in the well-being of all animals. A compassionate and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, Eula is survived by her husband, Homer, whom she married September 22, 1951; a daughter, Leslie Anne Barcus and her husband, Eugene Stewart Young of Arlington, VA; a son, Kevin Earl Barcus of Dover; a grandson, Clay Andrew Barcus of Copley; a sister, Veronica (Joseph) DiGenova of Delaware, OH; brother, Lawrence Robert (Janet Louise) Earl of Lisbon, OH; and 12 nieces and nephews.Friends may call on the family at the First Christian Church in New Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon, April 4, 2004, beginning at 2:00 pm. Services to celebrate Eula’s life will begin in the church sanctuary at 4:00 pm with Pastor Jim Borton officiating. A reception for family and friends at the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia.will follow the service.Committal will be on Monday, April 5, 2004, at 11:00 am at Lisbon Cemetery in Lisbon, OH, with a reception following at the First Christian Church, in Lisbon.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cats Â?N Us, 829 Union Avenue, Dover, OH 44622; Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W.
