Eugenia “Jean” Toth

Eugenia “Jean” Carol Toth, 94, of Dover, died Monday, October 10, 2016 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late John and Helen (Carniak) Foley, Jean, was born at Dover on May 7, 1922.

She was a graduate of Dover High School and worked at Kinser Lanes for 15 years. Jean attended New Pointe Community Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and bowling. She was an aide for nine years at Dover Avenue and Dover South, where she was known as “Mom Toth”. Jean also enjoyed the company of her Jack Russell Terriers, Sami and Neka and spending her mornings watching the birds from her kitchen window.

She is survived by her children, Carol Seibert, Michael Moore both of Bolivar, and Kathy (Terry) Shutt of Dover; her grandchildren, James (Denise) Maple, Ryan (Michele) Maple, Gary (Joi) Davidson, Jr., Zack Yockey, Kelly(John) McIntosh, Michael (Shelly) Shutt, Steven (Carrie) Thomas, and Edward (Tiffani) Thomas; two step-grandchildren, Arthur (Patti) Davidson, and Ann LaRose as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry W. Moore and her second husband, Stephen J. Toth; her siblings, Sabin Foley, Henrietta Holzbach and Albert Foley; and a daughter, Patricia Porcher.

The family will greet guests on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 5-7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a service celebrating Jean’s life will be held on Saturday at 11 AM. A meal and fellowship will be shared in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home, immediately following the service.
