Eugene M. Monticelli

Eugene Michael Monticelli, 63, of Dover, died Monday, November 28, 2016 in Akron City Hospital following a recent illness.

A son of the late Frederick Peter “Pete” and Erminia Elizabeth (Cercone) Monticelli, Eugene was born June 19, 1953 at Dover, Ohio.

Eugene graduated from Dover High School and was formerly employed by Shenango Co. and Dover Machine. He was Catholic by faith. Eugene was an avid golfer and during his younger years, he played bass in a band.

He is survived by his siblings, Rita (Jerry) Briggs of Mentor, Louis (Karen) Monticelli of Dover and Rosalind (Bob) Murphy of Zoarville as well as many extended family members and friends.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Dover at 1 p.m. on Saturday with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following the committal service a luncheon will be held in the Hospitality Room in the Geib Funeral Center.
