Eugene Ellis Morgan, 49, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Friday, November 1, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Huntington, West Virginia, on July 31, 1964, he was the son of the late Charles William and Josephine Marie (Ridgway) Morgan.
Eugene graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1982. He spent the majority of his professional career with the former Marlowe’s Pharmacy. There, he worked in a variety of roles during his 25-year employment with the company. He not only considered Jerry Marlowe his employer, but also his extended family and friend.
Eugene had a passion for riding his motorcycle and was an avid bowler also.
He will be deeply missed by his three sisters, Jenny (Mark) Vaughan of New Philadelphia, Carole (Mark) Williams of Newcomerstown, and Pamela (Allan) Freeman of New Philadelphia; his nieces, Renee’ (companion, Tom Ronald) Jones and Hope Vaughan, both of New Philadelphia; his aunts, Marjorie Kiefer of Marietta and Elizabeth Burcher of New Philadelphia; his uncle, Joseph (Jean) Ridgway of New Philadelphia; his beloved dogs, Little Miss Snowflake and Zeuser Boy; his close friend, Titus Miller of New Philadelphia; and numerous friends.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his grandmother, Esther Ridgway.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Eugene’s life will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
