Eugene C. Renneckar, 85, of Dover, formerly of New Philadelphia died Friday, December 31, 2004 at Park Village Care Center following an extended period of declining health.Eugene was born January 29, 1919 at the family home in Tuscarawas Co. to the late J. Herbert and Florence Kinsey Renneckar and had been employed by the former U.S. Concrete Pipe Co. and the former Robinson Clay Products. He had a great love of music and for many years he headed a band called Gene’s Blues, played in the Dominic Greco Memorial Concert Band, formerly played violin with the Tuscarawas Co. Philharmonic and worked as a piano tuner.He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia, and the American Federation of Musicians Local 404.Eugene is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. Renneckar of Columbus, O.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry E. and Margarete Renneckar of New Philadelphia; sister, Mrs. Robert (Wilma) Watson of New Philadelphia and grandchildren Krista and Kevin Renneckar of New Philadelphia.In addition to his parents Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret on December 27, 1982; and an infant son, Richard.Visitation will be held Monday January 3, 2005 from 5 till 8 p.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory of New Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Walters officiating. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Memorial donations may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Music Fund.
