Ethel Beavers

Ethel Irene Beavers, 88, of New Philadelphia, passed away in Country Club Retirement Center on October 1, 2018.

Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on February 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late William Alonzo and Ida Mae (Higgs) Reese.

After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, Ethel married the late Willard E. Beavers on June 3, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. Ethel was very active at Broadway United Methodist Church where she participated in the Golden Rule class, the Mary Martha Circle, and the Broadway United Methodist Women. Ethel was also a blessing to many in the church serving as a parish visitor. Additionally, she was a member of the grange.

Ethel will be deeply missed by her children, Jackie (Robert) Rippley of Charleston, SC, Will (Tammy) Beavers of New Philadelphia, Perry (Tracey) Beavers and John (Gina) Beavers, both of Stone Creek; her grandchildren, Lacy (Matthew) Kindschi, Craig (Kiersten) Rippley, Chris (Amanda) Rippley, Deidre Stocker, Jake Stocker, Brittany Beavers, Katie (Clay) Zeigler, Tyler Beavers, Michelle Beavers, and Brook Beavers; and eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Paul (Liz) Reese, Betty Saltkield, George (Bea) Reese, and Lois (Bob) Friend; and her sister-in-law, Jane Reese.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ethel was preceded in passing by her brother, Harold “Pete” Reese.

Visitation will be held in the Broadway United Methodist Church on October 4, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Rev. Mick Foster will lead a service celebrating Ethel’s life in the church beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Friends and family are invited back to the church following the committal service where Ethel’s church family will host a luncheon in Spencer Hall.
