Ethan E. Andrus, 24, of Deersville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from injuries sustained in an off-road accident.

 

Born in Akron, Ethan was the son of Anne M. (Ward) Andrus of Bolivar and Roger E. Andrus of Deersville and was currently employed as a Grounds Keeper for the Wilmot Wilderness Center. Ethan received his 240 Hour Professional Firefighting Certificate and Emergency Vehicle Operation certificate from Stark State College at Canton. He was also currently serving the community of Deersville as a member of their volunteer fire department and attended the Deersville Methodist Church at Deersville.

 

Ethan also possessed many interests. He loved animals and being outdoors, but he was also happy just playing video games.  He possessed a wealth of knowledge that covered a lot of things, of which he was always willing to share. He was also kind hearted, fun loving and enjoyed making people laugh.

 

In addition to his parents, Ethan is survived by his sister, Kala (Ben) Hartson of Hartville; his brother, Devin Andrus of Stow; his two nephews, Oliver, and Cooper Hartson of Hartville; his maternal grandmother, Janice Ward of Cuyahoga Falls; his maternal great-grandmother, Faythe Timms of Stow and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Ethan’s maternal grandfather, Edward Amos Ward, preceded him in death.

 

In keeping with his wishes, Ethan is to be cremated through the care of the Geib Funeral Center & Crematory at Dover and a service celebrating Ethan’s life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2 PM

in the Deersville Methodist Church, County Hwy 21, Deersville, Ohio 44693 where the Deersville Volunteer Fire Department will also honor Ethan’s service to the department. Following the service, friends are invited to share a meal at the Deersville Fire Department.
