Erma Weaver

Erma Weaver, age 88, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center at Uhrichsville. Born in the Beaver Dam Valley of Tuscarawas County, February 25, 1919, she was a daughter of the late David and Bessie Gundy Renicker. Erma was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking, gardening and collecting angels. In 1984, she retired from the former Snyder Laboratories following thirty-one years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, the late Carl E. “Zeke” Weaver, who died September 25, 1991. The couple wed April 30, 1935. Survivors include her daughter Betty Deal and husband Bob Vette of Casa Grande, Arizona, a son Jake H. Weaver and his wife Bobbie of Midvale, and Joyce Neiswonger and her husband Jack Sr. of Dennison. Her family also includes four grandchildren; Becky Walters of Anchorage, Alaska, Joe Walters and wife Debbie of Venice, Florida, Jamie Walters of Temperance, Michigan, and Jack Neiswonger Jr. and wife Clarice of Uhrichsville, three great-grandchildren, Tiffany and Josh Walters of Venice, Florida, and Lacee Walters of New Philadelphia. Three sisters, Delores Himes of Dover, Dorothy Roberts and husband Robert of New Philadelphia, and Dolly Kandel and husband Louis of Dover, complete the family. In addition to her parents and husband, Erma was preceded in death by her brothers Carl, Forrest, Lute, Bill, Pete and Dutch Renicker. Friends are invited to call Friday afternoon from 1-3PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Jim Taggart will officiate Mrs. Weaver’s funeral Friday at 3PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Holmes Church Cemetery. Those unable to attend are invited to share memories and condolences with the family by visiting the funeral home’s chapel.
