Erma Kay Snyder

June 10, 1927 — March 20, 2012

Erma Kay Snyder, age 84, of Hennis Care Center at Dover, and formerly of New Philadelphia, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday afternoon, March 20, 2012.

Born at Barrs Mills, June 10, 1927, she was the youngest and last surviving of 17 children born to the late Samuel J. and Polly S. Yoder Miller.

Erma was a member of New Philadelphia’s First Christian Church, and for many years worked as a house mother for East Circle Group Home of New Philadelphia.

Survivors include her two sons; Ray Stokes and his wife Florence of Canal Fulton, and Alan Stokes and his wife Leslie of New Port Richey, Florida.

Three grandchildren, Warren Stokes, James Stokes and Lisa Weyrick and her husband Drew, as well as seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews complete the family.

In addition to her parents, Erma is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd R. Snyder, a son John Martin, her ten sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Snyder will be held Saturday morning, March 24, at 11 in the chapel of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Burial, alongside her husband will follow in New Philadelphia’s East Avenue Cemetery.
