Erma Florence Warner, age 92, of Park Village Health Care Center at Dover, died Monday, November 29, 2010, following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late John R. and Rose M. Galanga Downing, Erma was born at Roswell, Ohio on December 26, 1917.On October 5, 1940, she married Ralph K. Warner. Together the couple reared three children and celebrated 58 years of marriage prior to Ralph’s passing on August 29, 1999.In addition to caring for her family, Erma also spent a number of years working for the former Belmont Enameling Company at New Philadelphia. In 1957, Erma and Ralph began Warner’s Cage Egg Farm in the Oldtown Valley. Until their retirement in 1972, the farm had supplied eggs to a large majority of the restaurants, grocers, and bakers throughout the Tuscarawas Valley. She was a long time member of the Community of Christ Church at New Philadelphia and was an active member of the women’s group, Emma Circle.Erma leaves behind her family which includes two daughters; Carol Vandenburg of Fort Myers, Florida, and Linda (Carroll) Keener of New Philadelphia; and a son, David (Donna) Warner also of New Philadlephia.Completing the family are five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Erma was preceded in death by a sister; Anna Downing and two brothers; Max and John Downing.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, from 5 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and again one hour prior to services on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 10 to 11 AM. Pastor Doug Kilchenman will lead a service celebrating Erma’s life in the funeral home’s chapel at 11 AM. Burial in the East Avenue Cemetery will follow.Following services the family wishes to invite guests to join them in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the New Philadelphia funeral home, where a meal and fellowship will be shared.The family requests memorial contributions in Erma’s name may be directed to Community of Christ Church, 515 Church Ave SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.Linn-Hert-Geib330-343-5506www.geibcares.com
