Enid L. Randles, 93, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday morning, February 17, 2005, at Colonial Manor in New Philadelphia.Born in Levuka on the Fiji Islands on April 18, 1911, Enid was the daughter of the lateCharles H. and Minnie (Groom) Hopewell. She was educated on the islands and came to the United States as a war bride following World War II.She and her husband, Paul R. (Buzz) Randles, shared 32 years of marriage prior to his death on October 9, 1976. In addition to caring for her family, Enid was a legal secretary for two local law firms, Stephenson & Stephenson and Sani & Barnhouse, until her retirement in l986.She was also an active, long-time member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia, the Order of the Eastern Star, chapter 222, and numerous other organizations. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Enid is survived by her two sons, Robert Randles of New Philadelphia and Clinton E. (Christine) Randles of Dover; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Vernon Dillon of Middleton, Ohio; and two nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband; three sisters; and one brother.Visitation will be at the Geib Funeral Center in Dover on Saturday afternoon, February 19, 2005, between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Services to honor Enid’s life will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Walters at 3:00, following visitation. Cremation will be conducted at the Geib North Dover Crematory, and burial will be at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Warsaw, Ohio.Memorial donations may be made to Colonial Manor Donation Fund, c/o Lisa Tanner, 441 University Drive N.E., New Philadelphia, OH, 44663.
