Emma Mae Goss, 98, of Massillon, died Friday, June 20, 2008, in Elmwood at the Shawan at Tiffin, Ohio following a short period of declining health.A daughter of the late Brice and Mina Griffith Love, Emma was born May 25, 1910 in the family residence at Dover, Ohio, where she resided until her family moved to Massillon in 1918.She was a 1928 graduate of Massillon Washington High School and had graduated from business college. She had served for many years as the Financial Secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Massillon.Emma belonged to the First United Methodist Church, at Massillon, the Massillon Women’s Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Canton Garden Club, of which, she was a past president. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling and golf during her lifetime but Emma’s greatest joy in life was her family and friends.In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund B. Goss; her daughter, Diane Dietrich; and two brothers, Harry “Bud” and Thomas Love.She is survived by her son-in-law, Charles W. Dietrich, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Beth (Rob) Kelch, of Midland, MI., William Dietrich, of Washington, D.C., Charles E. (Jane) Dietrich, of Tiffin, Matthew S. Dietrich, of Zanesville and Thomas R. Dietrich, of Lakewood; great grandchildren, Rebecca, Tim and Daniel Kelch and David, Kevin and Ryan Dietrich; sister-in-laws, Margaret Love, of Pittsburgh, PA and Isabel Love, of Beach City, nieces, nephews, and her Dover cousins, who include, Evelyn “Tootie” Meese, and Dorothy Edwards, their families and the family of the late Mildred Gow. Visitation will be held Monday June 23, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Avenue at Dover where Reverend Greg Sellers will conduct funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be beside her husband in Dover Burial Park.
