Emma “Kay” Ellwood, 76, of New Philadelphia passed away December 7, 2016 in Schoenbrunn Healthcare Center following a period of declining health.
Born in Dover on October 17, 1940, she is the daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel K. (Maxwell) Davis. After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, she served in a variety of capacities at area businesses.
Kay loved being part of the Friday night women’s bowling association. She was also a member of AA, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and deeply loved her family and cats.
She is survived by her children, Doreen Taylor and Alice Mansfield, both of New Philadelphia, Kim Bernhart of Kingsland, Georgia, and Kaleen (Scott) McIntyre of Dover; her sister-in-law, Lillian (Paul) Robb of New Philadelphia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ellwood; her infant daughter, Colleen Ellwood; two brothers; one sister; and two grandchildren, Jessie and Amanda Wright.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 7 pm. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
