Elsie Marie Schupbach, 77 of Dover, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 16, 2006 in her home. Born January 7, 1929 in Waterford, Ohio, Elsie was the daughter of the late Florance and Margaret (Tullius) Arnold.Elsie was an avid reader who especially enjoyed reading western novels, gardening around her home, animals, and poetry. However, Elsie’s two grandchildren “Joey and Hannah” brought much joy to her life, she loved them very much, and was proud of all their accomplishments.Elsie is survived by two sons: Steven Alan Schupbach of Dover and Michael Ray Schupbach of Lowell, Massachusetts. In addition to her two grandchildren Joseph John Schupbach of Chicago, Illinois and Hannah Christine Schupbach of Harwich, Massachusetts, other survivors are: Kathleen O’Donoghue (mother of Joey and Hannah and former spouse of Michael); two brothers, Robert Arnold and Paul Arnold; three sisters, Louise Payne, Anna Mae Thompson, and Alice Allen; and many nieces and nephews.Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph John Schupbach whom she married on September 12, 1953; two brothers, Dale Arnold and David Arnold; and three sisters, Mary Chips, Ruth Tucker, and Esther Blankenship.In keeping with Elsie’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 7:00pm in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover, Ohio with Dr. Mary L. Burkhart officiating. Family and friends will be received from 6:00-7:00 at the funeral home on Wednesday. Following the memorial service, a dinner reception will be held in the Hospitality Room at the Geib Funeral Center.The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Elsie’s memory to Akron Children’s Hospital and/or the American Cancer Society.
