Elsie Gray

Elsie Cook Gray, 99, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover.A daughter of the late Samuel H. Cook and Gertrude Wolfe Cook, Elsie was born September 30, 1905 in Adena, Ohio and moved to Tuscarawas Co. settling with her family in Midvale at a young age.She was a member of the First Moravian Church of Dover, the Rebekka Lodge, The Dover Historical Society, enjoyed playing the organ and vacationing with her husband in Florida and on Lake Erie, at Lakeside.Elsie is survived by a sister-in-law, Alice Gray, of Dover and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Gray, whom she married in 1928; a brother Benjamin Cook and her sister Hazel Cook Bierie.Graveside services will be held Monday, July 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory of New Philadelphia is handling the arrangements.Memorial contribution in Elsie’s memory may be made to the First Moravian Church, 319 N.
