Elsie C. Horger

Elsie C. Horger, 89, of Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died Thursday, February 6, 2003, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, Pa.Born May 4, 1913, in Wiesbaden, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rose Huber Maurer. Elsie was raised by Adam and Stella Lanzer. She was a 1933 graduate of Dover High School and spent her life caring for her family as a homemaker. Elsie was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia.Surviving is her husband of 66 years, Robert H. Horger, of Cabot, Pa, whom she married June 20, 1936; a son, Robert C. (Benita) Horger of New Kensington, Pa; a granddaughter, Michelle Daro of New Kensington, Pa; two sisters, Luise Godel of Germany and Mary Elizabeth Oliver of Portland, Oregon.Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 9, 2003 from 2-5 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 10, at 10:30 AM, in the funeral home, with Rev. Jeffrey Gerber officiating. Burial will follow at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. .
