Elizabeth Smart, an eleven-year resident of Park Village in Dover, and formerly of Dover, died peacefully at Park Village early Monday morning, October 13, 2003.She was born May 17, 1905 in Uhrichsville, a daughter of the late James and Belle (Marshall) Ramage. Mrs. Smart worked as a telephone operator for many years in Uhrichsville and retired from Bell Telephone’s Canton office in 1970 after 25 years service. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America. Mrs. Smart enjoyed painting and ceramic crafts as well as quilting and knitting.Mrs. Smart is survived by two grandsons, Richard A. (Donna) Smart of New Philadelphia and William W. Smart of North Carolina; two granddaughters, Dianne Dosher and Elizabeth Smart, II both of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, James Winston Smart of New Philadelphia and Richele Marie Smart of New Philadelphia, currently serving in the United States Marine Corps, and Carrie Dosher Smart of North Carolina; three nieces and five nephews; daughters-in-law, Marcella Smart Mason of Dover and Rita Smart of North Carolina. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smart was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1950; sons, Duane Smart in 1951 and Winston T. Smart in 1975; four sisters, Bessie, Margaret, Agnes and Cora; and three brothers, Frank, George and James.Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2003 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with M. Sonny Kinsey officiating.
