Elizabeth L. “Libby” Zurcher

Elizabeth L. Zurcher, 94, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away June 17, 2017 in New Dawn Healthcare Center at Dover following a short period of declining health.

Born in New Philadelphia on January 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James and Bertha (Riddle) Bird.

Libby married her late husband, Raymond Zurcher, on August 7, 1941. Together, they were members of Jerusalem Church.   She greatly enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing cards. Libby was also a devoted employee of Dover Appliance Co. from 1946 to 1963.

Libby is survived by her sisters, Sandra Beans of Dennison, Barbara Karl of New Philadelphia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Libby was preceded in death by her brother, James; sisters, Maxine Burkey, Annabelle Tedrich, Margaret Betz, Florence Limbacher, Joanne Hogue, and Dolores Miller.

No visitation or services are scheduled. Private burial will take place in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover.
