Eleanor Soulsby

Eleanor Emma (Fanty) Soulsby, 100, of Dover, arrived at her eternal heavenly home on Monday, March 14, 2016 and was reunited with her husband, Eugene Soulsby.

A daughter of the late Alexander and Isadora (Ebli) Fanti, Eleanor was born September 26, 1915 at Barnhill, Ohio.

Eleanor’s greatest passion in life was her love for the Lord and she enjoyed worshipping at the Christian Temple Church.

She enjoyed growing flowers and tomatoes and also became fond of birdwatching in her later years.  Eleanor also enjoyed reading and sewing.

Eleanor was the matriarch of five generations and is survived by her children, Richard (Donna) Soulsby of New Philadelphia and Violet Moody of Dennison; eight grandchildren, which includes her caretaker of 30 years, her beloved grandson, Donn Moody as well as, Scott (Donna) Moody, Susan (Mike) Harris, Michele (P.J.) Bracone, Sharon (Rick) Rentz, Brian Soulsby and Mark (Mariclaire) Soulsby; 12 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; a grandson, Pat Moody and nine brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A funeral service celebrating Eleanor’s life will follow in the funeral home at 6 p.m. with Pastors Jack and Minnie Garabrandt officiating.  Following the services, a reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.  In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes, cremation will follow the services and inurnment will take place in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover at a later date.
