Eleanor Louise Menapace, 74, of Dennison, died Thursday, October 19, 2017, while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.
Born on January 23, 1943, Eleanor was a daughter of the late Gerald and Loretta (Besozzi) Nadeau.
She was a 1961 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and on July 16, 1966 married James Menapace and together raised three children.
Eleanor was employed by Joy Manufacturing at New Philadelphia and retired from Buehler’s at New Philadelphia, where she worked in the Deli Department.
Her faith was nurtured for many years at Sacred Heart Church and most recently has also enjoyed attending Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Other joys in Eleanor’s life included gardening and vacationing, especially trips to Myrtle Beach, but above all spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, Eleanor will be missed by their three children, Cheryl (Terry) Walker of Strasburg, William (Carolyn) Menapace of New Philadelphia, and Karen (Sam) Distefano of Columbus; a brother, Robert (Jean) Nadeau of Dover; and her grandchildren, Jace Walker, Dylan Walker, Charlotte and Nicklas Menapace, and Anna Distefano and two step-grandchildren, Peyton and Alison Distefano.
The family will greet guests on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 2-5 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a Christian Wake Service will begin at 4:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial led by Father Ty Tomson will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia will follow. All are invited to share in a meal and fellowship in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia following services.
