Eleanor J. “Betty” Melville, 70, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Bowerston, died Sunday October 16, 2005 at Union Hospital in Dover, O.A daughter of the late James R. Maxwell and Bernice (Patterson) Liszeski, Betty was born February 16, 1935 in Dennison, O. She married her late husband Gary Blaine Melville On September 19, 1958 in a ceremony in Dennison.She worked at the Scio pottery for many years. Betty truly enjoyed her family and was her happiest when they where all together. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.She is survived by one daughter, April (Jeff ) Goodwin of New Phila,; one son Michael Melville, of Fla.; step father Leo Liszeski of Cadiz, two sisters, Dorothy Harper of Buckeye Lake and Jane (Ronald) Wright of Scio; two brothers, William (Joyce) Maxwell of East Sparta, Danny (Bobbi) Hyre of Freeport; two grandsons, Jacob Goodwin of New Philadelphia and C.J. Melville of Pa. ; five granddaughters, Veronica (Shawn) Armstrong, Gina Melville, and Becky Melville of Newcomerstown; Suzy Melville of Coshocton, and Allie Melville of Pa. She also has five great-grandchildren. In addition she will be greatly missed by her longtime companion Jess Manbeck.In addition to her husband Gary who died May 9, 1985, and her parents, she is also preceded in death by one brother, Butch LiszeskiVisitation will be Wednesday October 19 2005 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at 5600 North Wooster Ave. Dover, O. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Steve Jenkins officiating.
