Elda Lee Davis, 90, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 in Schoenbrunn Healthcare Center at New Philadelphia. A daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Paige) West, Elda was born on April 30, 1917 in Stillwater, Ohio.A graduate of Uhrichsville High School, Elda was a member of the Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church and enjoyed teaching her Bible School Class on Sunday mornings. She was a past Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star as well as a member of the Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society and the Tuscarawas County Geology Club.On September 20, 1940 Elda married Thomas W. Davis and together they owned and operated Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. Tom passed away on March 10, 1976.Elda is survived by a son, Mark (Debbie) Davis of New Philadelphia; two grandsons, Kevin Davis who is serving in the United States Coast Guard at Traverse City, Michigan and Kyle Davis of the home and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Elda was preceded in death by two brothers Gail West and Howard West and two sisters Mildred West and Ruth Nelson.Family and friends may call on Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted by Rev. Sarah Cerreto in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
