Elbert Denney, Jr

Elbert “Slim” Denney, Jr. 74, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, September 8, 2006 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton.A son of the late Elbert Denney Sr. and Hattie (Warick) Denney, Elbert was born August 30, 1932 in Sheffield, Alabama.He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church at New Philadelphia and he was retired as a self-employed plumber.He is survived by his wife, Judy (Pierzchala) Denney; children, Judy Huff of Midvale and Sandy Denney of New Jersey; step-children, James Adams, Shannan Adams and Daniel Adams all of New Philadelphia and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his beloved cat, Misty.Elbert was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with a funeral service following at 4 p.m. In keeping with Elbert’s wishes, cremation will take place following the services.
