Elaine (Zimmer) Rudd, 77, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 23, 2018 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.
A daughter of the late Walter A. Zimmer Sr. and the late Helen M. (Nelius) Zimmer, Elaine was born July 12, 1940 at Canton, Ohio.
Elaine graduated from Hoover High School in 1958. She then completed her education at Kent State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Over the years, she was employed at Pepper Pike Country Club as a Recreational Director, Chapel Hill Nursing Home, H & H Auto Parts and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Christine Rudd of New Philadelphia and Paul and Vicki Rudd of Missoula, Montana; a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Shirley Zimmer of North Canton and a sister, Kathy Nelson Boyce of Carrollton. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, Cody Benson and Evan Rudd and their dog, Sergeant. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends from her prayer and church groups at St. Paul’s Church at North Canton and Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia.
She was a friend to all and her faith and love for others guided her path through life.
In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia with Father Jeff Coning celebrating. A luncheon will follow at the church.
