Elaine J. Milyiori, age 83, of Dover, passed away peacefully late Friday evening, July 17, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover. Born at Des Plaines, Illinois, March 2, 1926, Elaine was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Rose Allen Affrisio. On her twentieth birthday, Elaine married Albert Aken and three years later the couple relocated from Des Plaines, Illinois, to Dover . Elaine was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover. In her nearly sixty years in the Tuscarawas Valley, Elaine worked at the former Alsco plant in Sugarcreek, later the Timken Company at Canton. Ultimately she retired from the former General Electric plant at Newcomerstown. Elaine was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed quilting and organized a quilt club. She was also well known for her artistic talent in arts and crafts which were displayed for many years at local craft shows. At home, Elaine enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her family. She leaves behind a family that includes two daughters and a son; Steven (wife, Angelina) Aken of Anaheim, California, Marsha (husband, Harold) Slotta of Des Plaines, Illinois, and Julie (husband, Kerby) Watson, of Dover. Six grandchildren; Lawrence Aken of Anaheim, California, Kimberly (husband, William) Hebert of Shannon, North Carolina, Emily (husband, Jason) Snyder of Dover, Mitchell, Simon, and Kellee Watson, all of Dover, two great-grandsons; William Hebert III, and Jonathan Snyder. A sister, Theresa Frohn of Dover, completes the family. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her first husband, her beloved Albert. She was also preceded in death by her second husband Louis Milyiori, Sr. Cremation will be cared for locally by the Geib Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. The family will receive friends Saturday morning, August 15, from 10 until 11 in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where a memorial service will commence at 11 AM. Following the memorial service, a reception will be given in the dining room at Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
