Eileen C. Tanner, 80, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover, following a period of declining health.
Born on March 6, 1945 at Dover, Eileen was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Kathryn E. (Ripple) Diebel and a graduate of the former Stone Creek High School. Following high school, Eileen pursued her dream by attending Beauty School, where she became a licensed Beautician.
Eileen dedicated many years of her life to her career as a beautician, becoming a staple in the lives of those around her through her work. She had the distinction of managing the former Cameo Beauty Shop in Newcomerstown, where her artistic flair and gentle spirit touched the hearts of countless clients.
A longtime member of the Grace Community Church at Stone Creek, Eileen was a devoted and loving soul, whose heart was always open to family and friends. She cherished the time spent with loved ones, making memories that will be treasured forever.
On June 30, 1979, Eileen married Alfred R. Tanner and together they shared over 45 years of marriage. Also surviving are her sister, Donna Diebel of New Philadelphia and her niece, Tammy (Jeff) Mathias of New Philadelphia.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Diebel and her nephew, Ronnie Diebel.
A funeral service for Eileen will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia with Rev. William Mallernee officiating. Friends are invited to call on Saturday beginning at 10 AM until the time of the service.
