Edyth B. Ashcraft, 91, a long time resident of Dover, died Sunday, January 16, 2005, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.A daughter of the late George O. and Anna M. Spellman Poland, Edyth was born September 6, 1913, in Uhrichsville, O.She graduated from the Newark College of Commerce and had formerly worked as a clerk for the city of Columbus, O. Edyth was a published poet, Life member of the International Society of Poetry Â? Hall of Fame, the International Library of Poetry, Tuscarawas Co. Historical Society, Friends of Dover Library, Chapter 164 – Order of Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society, and the New Philadelphia Garden Club.She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Shupe of New Albany, O.; grandchildren, Julie McKnight and Jeff Shupe; half-sisters, Mary Lou Page and Maybelle Smith; sister-in-law, Ruth E. Black; two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Edyth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph K. Ashcraft, whom she married June 14, 1936; sisters, Edna Fisher, Frances Deeslie, Gladys Zurcher and Olive Morris; brothers, Robert, Raymond and Walter Poland; and a step brother, Leo Poland.Visitation will be Tuesday, January 18, 2005, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia and Wednesday, January 19, 2005, from 10 till 11 a.m. Services will be conducted by Reverend Edward Scaglione and Reverend Terry Kidd on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel. Burial will be next to her beloved husband at Dover Burial Park.
