Edward John Burner, age 47, of New Philadelphia, OH and formerly of Elgin, IL peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Monday, July 9, 2012, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Ed was born May 5, 1965 in Elgin, IL to John Burner and Marcel Burner Miranda. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1983 and began working for Eby Brown Company where he was a truck driver for over 27 years, working at both the Elgin, IL and Springfield, OH locations.
His family, his church, and his cars were very special to him. Ed enjoyed having several projects going, either in his workshop or his garage. He was always available to help a friend or neighbor and was known for his generosity and kindheartedness.
He is survived by his parents, John (Sharon) Burner of Elgin, IL and Marcel (Baldy) Miranda of Sebring, FL; his wife, Lynn (Huffman) Burner and daughters, Melissa and Elaina of the home.
Sisters, Annette (Mike) Nathan, Aurora, IL and Laurie Fike Medearis, Rockford, IL; brothers, James (Jeanne) Burner, Aurora, IL, Brian (Debi) Burner, Orlando, FL, and John (Erin) Fike, Lima, OH, as well as 11 nieces and nephews complete the family.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be led by Dr. Douglas Downs in Rush Community Church of the Nazarene at Uhrichsville, OH on Sunday July 29, 2012, at 12 noon. The family will share a time with guests following the memorial service during a reception in the church fellowship hall.
Cremation care was conducted though Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover. Burial with a memorial service took place in Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, Peace Memorial Garden, Elgin, IL.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care, the staff at the Cleveland Clinic and the many friends that provided meals, prayers and support.
