Edna Mae Vierheller, 81, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly, Friday, March 16, 2018, in Trinity Hospital Twin City at Dennison.
Born at Sherrodsville, Ohio on December 17, 1936, Edna was a daughter of the late Christy B. and Edna I. (Bennedum) Bloom.
She attended school at the former Uhrichsville High School and on January 9, 1969, married Harry E. Vierheller. The couple shared 34 years of marriage prior to his passing on February 22, 2003.
Edna formerly attended First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia and was employed by New Dawn Retirement Center as a Housekeeper. Edna was an avid Bingo player who enjoyed walking at New Towne Mall, cheering on the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Diana (Mike) McMurray of New Philadelphia, John (Sherry Martin) Harding of Uhrichsville, Thomas (Jen) Harding, and Sally (Wilmer Eckelberry) Ross; a son-in-law, Randy Walker all of New Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Ken) Kiser of Cadiz and Jo Ann Henry of Uhrichsville; and a brother, Chris (Linda) Bloom of New Philadelphia.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Walker.
In keeping with Edna’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation care will be conducted by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
