Edna F. Dunfee

July 14, 1927 — November 10, 2015

Edna F. Dunfee, age 88, of Dover, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Esther (Mathieu) and Walter Kendle, Edna was born July 14, 1927 in Zoar, Ohio.

Enda was an active member of the First Church of the Brethren. She loved to crochet blankets and afghans, as well as playing cards with her friends and family. She loved to watch baseball, especially the Alanta Braves. Edna also spent every August at Lake Erie, where she would spend her time perch fishing, and catching them two at a time.

She is survived by two sons, Walter (Karen) Dunfee of Dover and Daniel (Mary) Dunfee of Dennison; one daughter, Sue (Randy) Minnis of Dover; eight grandchildren, Brennen (Missy) Dunfee of Dover, Melissa (Adam) Myers of New Philadelphia, Amber (Colin) Andrews of Stow, Aaron Minnis of Dover, Stacey (Ryan) Smith of Canal Fulton, Jason (Rachel) Dunfee of Bucyrus, Steve (Shannon) Dunfee of Schreve, and Matthew (Fiancee, Haley Burling) Dunfee of Bucyrus; Eleven great-grandchildren, Jayden, Bryce, Austin, Addy, Dawson, Kiera, Lyncoln, Spencer, Rylee, and Gavin; three step-great-grandchildren, Bailey, Kenzee, and Alex; one brother, Don (Joanne) Kendle of Marion, South Carolina and one sister, Doris Sarbaugh of Zoar, OH.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Dunfee, Jr., whom she married on August 12, 1946; a son Donald Dunfee; two brothers, Kenneth and Walter Kendle and one sister, Harriet Eash.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 1 to 3 pm in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Private family interment will be held in Dover Burial Park.
